Everyday objects can be beautiful to me.
The corner of the baker’s rack in my kitchen, the ceramic moonshine jugs leaning against the wall, my stainless steel kitchen sink, the umbrella stand with its assortment of umbrellas and walking sticks, my unmade bed with the comforter and sheets creating hills and valleys of dark and light, the side of my dresser at dawn and the lovely brass lamp I found on eBay.
Each of these things are familiar and comforting. Yet, I try to find aspects that are new to me as I draw them.
